Children & Families at Mad RiverFamilies have been at the core of the Mad River Glen community since the beginning. Generations of kids have honed their skills on the slopes of General Stark Mountain developing into some of America’s best all-around skiers. Mad River Glen offers services and programs for kids of all ages and abilities. Cricket Club Day CareCallie McAllister has been leading our state licensed day care facility for more than twenty years. She and her staff provide a happy and loving environment for children aged six weeks to six years. The nursery has a large and cheerful play area and is located right by the lift so parents can easily ski in for a quick visit. The Cricket Club also offers an introduction to skiing for youngsters aged four to six. The Cricket Club is open from 8:30 to 4 PM during the week and from 8:15 to 4 PM on weekends and holidays. Our day care facility works on a first come first served basis; no reservations are taken.
Cricket Learn to Ski ProgramThis program is designed as an introduction to skiing. The kids will get used to their equipment and maneuvering around the special Cricket Club area. This is not a lift-riding program; children ready for more advanced skiing should register in the Chipmunk Program.
Chipmunk Ski ProgramThis program is designed for kids between the age of four and seven who have some ski experience and are able to ride on the lifts. The program is based out of The Birdcage Lodge where the youngsters will have their own special area. The instructors work with the children in a fun and safe atmosphere designed to further their skills and helping them to enjoy their time on the mountain. The program runs from 10 AM to 3 PM with a one-hour lunch break, weekends and holidays throughout the season. Cost is $375 Per Season or $40 per day ($110 Lunch Option Available)
Panther Ski ProgramThis program is designed for kids seven and over who want to have fun skiing with friends. It is designed to offer kids the opportunity to explore Mad River Glen’s terrain and improve their skiing in a fun and safe environment. The program runs from 10 AM to 3 PM with a one-hour lunch break, weekends and holidays throughout the season. Cost is $375 Per Season or $40 per day ($110 Lunch Option Available) Special Holiday Chipmunk & Panther Ski CampThe yearlong Chipmunk and Panther programs are now available for Christmas Week. The program runs from December 29 to January 2. Cost for the weeklong camp is $125. Junior Race ProgramSteeped in New England’s rich racing tradition, today’s junior race program focuses on developing tomorrow’s stars. Challenging Terrain and top-notch coaching make Mad River Glen an ideal place for youngsters to learn racing skills, have fun and become better skiers. This season-long program is designed for kids from ages 7 to 12 and focuses on developing strong, fundamental skiing skills in a positive, fun and exciting atmosphere. Youngsters will spend more time free skiing and working on technique, than in gates. One must be a good skier in order to become a good racer.
