All About the MRG-INFO Electonic Mailing Lists

List Subscription Control Center

Mad River Glen hosts two electronic mailing lists for the exchange of Mad River information: mrg-info and mrg-coop.

mrg-info is designed as an information distribution channel for "Official" Mad River Glen ski reports, news, and updates. Each day (barring computer hardware meltdowns), every subscriber to the mrg-info list receives a copy of the Mad River Glen Official Daily Ski Report, suitable for framing, direct from the Mad River Glen World Headquarters at the base of General Stark's Mountain. From time to time, Mad River Glen calendar information or other newsworthy items will also be delivered to your electronic mailbox. mrg-info is a one-way list: you will receive mail, but only official Mad River Glen dignitaries or their appointed designees are allowed to post info. Subscription, however, is open to all.

mrg-coop is designed as a two-way communication channel for Mad River Glen Cooperative shareholders. Anyone subscribed to the list can send or receive list mail, but only coop shareholders are permitted to subscribe: another reason to Buy It if You Can.

How to interact with the lists

To make a posting to the list, send an electronic mail message to: mrg-coop@madriver.com

Fill in a meaningful subject field (to give a short description about your message) and then type in the message. Within a few minutes, maybe as long as an hour, your message will be sent to all the subscribers. Remember, only MRG Officials are allowed to post to mrg-info.

By default, your postings will be sent to the list, and a copy will come back to you as confirmation that your message was received by the List Robot and delivered to the subscribers. If do not want or need confirmation, change your acknowledgement setting by using the controls above.

To reply to a posting from the list, use the normal reply function of your mailer, but remember that your reply will go to everyone on the list. If you wish to respond only to the author, take care that you explicitly take the necessary steps to do so. These steps vary from mailer to mailer (pine is not NetScape is not Eudora), and further discussion is beyond the scope of this document.

DO NOT send "unsubscribe" or "leave" messages to mrg-coop@madriver.com. Your request will be ignored, and your ignorance will be ridiculed. You have been warned.
