Current research

Current research on the Charlotte whale is centered on interpreting the environment of the Champlain Sea and surrounding areas at the time the whale lived and died. Because the original discovery site was destroyed many years ago during construction of the railroad, researchers have been forced to devise new methods of gathering additional data.

This research takes place in the library, in the field and in the laboratory.
