I include these elevations to give the never-evers a sense of scale for the undertaking. From Pinkham notch to our highest ascent, we climbed some 3800' of vertical. This represents a serious day hike on it's own.

, Algonquin (second highest peak in the New York) is a 3000' hike, as is Giant Mountain.
