If you want the party line on L'Espace Killy, there's a whole slew of commercial info on the web regarding Tignes and Val D'Isere: from Ski In, Tignes is discussed in French and English, and Val is discussed in French and English. Two hours plus drive from Beviers brought me to L'Espace Killy: Tignes and Val D'Isere. Found lodgings at the Hotel Aiguille Percée: breakfast, dinner, and room with bath for 350FF a night (about 60 bucks). 500 feet or less from the lifts.

is a bizillion dollar subway through the rocks which whisks you up 1000m in about 8 minutes to the summer skiing on the glacier. The train holds hundreds of people: it has to be seen to be believed. Rode it up to the Glacier Grande Motte, where the runs down were mostly easy cruisers, with a small off-piste variant near the Rocher de la Grande Balme.

Spent my aprés ski at the local bowling alley, which seemed to have the most lively scene. They might know their skiing, but this sport has the French pretty confused.
